Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Ryan La(“we”, “us”), who operate AyediaBoard. By using the service you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.
1. What AyediaBoard is
AyediaBoard lets a creator publish a board of ideas for work they might make. Anyone can vote on an idea for free. Anyone can also boost an idea, which means paying money to signal that they want it made.
We are a platform. We do not make the videos, we do not choose what gets made, and we are not a party to the relationship between a creator and the people who support them.
2. A boost is not a purchase
Boosting an idea does not buy the video, commission it, or guarantee that it will ever be made. A boost is a voluntary payment that moves an idea up a board and tells the creator that there is demand for it. The creator decides what to make, in what order, and whether to make it at all.
You are not buying goods, digital content or a service, and you receive no ownership, licence, credit, editorial control or equity in anything the creator produces. If you would not be content having paid and seen nothing made, do not boost.
A tip is not a purchase either, and buys even less. A tip is a voluntary gift to a creator for work they have already done. It is not attached to any idea, does not appear on any board, does not move any ranking, and asks for nothing in return. Everything in these terms that applies to a boost applies to a tip, except that a tip is never refunded automatically because there is no idea whose delivery it was waiting on.
3. Accounts
You need an account to run a board. You can submit and boost ideas without one. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@ayediaboard.com if you think it has been used without your permission.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 18 to run a board and receive payouts.
4. Payments, commission and payouts
Payments are processed by Stripe. Creators receive money into their own Stripe Connect account, and we never hold or control creator funds. Our commission is taken automatically at the moment of payment as a Stripe application fee.
Commission is a percentage of each boost plus a small fixed amount per transaction, and the rate depends on the creator’s plan. The current rates are on the pricing page, which forms part of these terms. We may change them with reasonable notice; a change never applies retrospectively to boosts already taken.
Creators are responsible for their own tax, and for their obligations to their own supporters. Paid plans are billed as recurring subscriptions through Stripe and can be cancelled at any time from the dashboard, taking effect at the end of the paid period.
We are the middleman, not the merchant. The agreement about what does or does not get made is between a creator and the people who support them. We provide the board, the ranking and the payment plumbing, and we take a commission for doing so. We are not a party to that agreement, we do not hold creator funds, and we do not decide what a creator makes.
4a. When you get paid
Money from boosts and tips lands in your own Stripe account as it is paid, and it is yours from that moment. We pay it out to your bank monthly, once your cleared balance reaches the threshold for your board’s currency. Below that it stays in your balance and rolls into the next run. Your dashboard shows how much has cleared and how far off the next payout is.

Your board’s currency is set from the country of your Stripe account when you connect it, and does not change afterwards.
This is a threshold on timing, not a fee, and nothing is deducted for it. Stripe charges us for each payout it sends, and on a small balance that charge can exceed the commission we earned — so payouts are batched rather than sent on every few pounds. If you close your account we pay out whatever has cleared, threshold or not.
4b. Chargebacks and disputes
If a supporter disputes a payment with their bank or card issuer, Stripe recovers the disputed amount and its dispute fee from us as the platform, whatever the outcome and whoever was at fault.
As between us and the creator, the creator is responsible for chargebacks, disputes and refunds arising from payments made to their board. Where we are charged for one, we may recover the disputed amount and any associated fee from the creator’s available balance, from their future earnings on the service, or by invoice if neither covers it. We will tell the creator when we do this and what it relates to.
Nothing in this section affects a supporter’s rights against their own card issuer or bank, which we neither limit nor can limit.
Where a creator’s board attracts a level of disputes that puts our own payment processing at risk, we may pause payments to that board or close it. That is a last resort, and we will explain it in writing.
5. Refunds
Because a boost is a voluntary payment rather than a purchase, boosts are generally not refundable. There are three exceptions built into the product:
- A creator can withdraw an idea and refund everyone who boosted it. Where that happens, our commission on the refunded amount is returned too — we do not keep a fee on money that went back.
- If an idea is still not delivered 90 days after you boosted it, we refund you automatically. You do not have to ask, and you do not need the creator to agree. This runs on a schedule, so a creator who goes quiet cannot leave your money with them indefinitely.
- We may refund a payment where it was taken in error, duplicated, or is the subject of a successful fraud or chargeback claim.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights, including any rights you have against your card issuer.
6. Ideas people submit
Anyone can suggest an idea to a board. Submissions are reviewed before they appear publicly, and a creator can approve, decline, merge or remove any of them. By submitting an idea you grant the creator and us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the service and to act on it.
You keep no claim over work the creator later makes. An idea is not protectable by submitting it here, and a creator may already be working on something similar.
7. What you must not do
- Submit anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, or infringing someone’s rights.
- Impersonate anyone, or run a board for a creator you are not.
- Use the service to launder money, or to pay for anything other than a boost.
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape or circumvent the service or its limits.
- Manipulate voting, including with duplicate or automated accounts.
We can suspend or close an account that does any of this, and we will refund affected supporters where we reasonably can.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice and let creators export their data.
9. Liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for a creator failing to make something, for the conduct of any user, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the commission we earned from your activity in that period, or £100.
If you use the service in the course of a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings.
10. Ending it
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the dashboard, which also cancels any subscription. We can end this agreement if you break these terms. Anything that ought to survive termination — commission already earned, liability limits — does.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept it.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your home country’s mandatory law.
